Grater Plate Recipe: Quick Homemade Lasagne

Grater Plate Recipe: Quick Homemade Lasagne

A quick, comforting recipe that is made with almost no mess.

Fancy homemade lasagne without the hassle? This light, plant-based, and delicious version is prepared directly on the ceramic grater : make the sauce, assemble the layers, and bake!

Ideal for an individual meal, easy and full of flavour.

🛒 Ingredients (for 1-2 people):

  • A dash of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 small or medium courgette
  • 1 large ripe tomato
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2-3 precooked lasagne sheets
  • 2 tbsp grated cheese (your favourite)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • (Optional) 1 tbsp cream cheese or bechamel

🔪 Step by step:

1. Prepare the sauce directly on the grater plate.
Add a splash of EVOO and grate the garlic, onion, carrot, courgette, and tomato onto the plate. Add salt, pepper, and dried oregano. Mix everything well until a thick, flavourful sauce forms.

Once you have the sauce ready, separate it into 2 or 3 parts so you can assemble the lasagne in layers.

2. Assemble the lasagne directly on the plate

  1. Place the first part of the sauce as a base.
  2. Add a sheet of lasagne (you can split it if it doesn't fit whole).
  3. Top with another portion of the sauce and, if desired, a spoonful of cream cheese or béchamel.
  4. Repeat the process with another plate and more sauce as many times as you like.
  5. Finish with grated cheese on top.

3. Bake
Place the grater plate in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes , until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.

Because cooking doesn't always have to be an ordeal. Sometimes, all you need is good food, real ingredients, and a willingness to take care of yourself. 💚
